Scheduling academic success meetings

More clarification/details

To expand options for parents and meet the new State law requirement for dual-credit, NSHS is allowing parents to use the Academic Success Meetings to meet the NSHS parent meeting requirement.  NSHS students will receive full credit on their scorecard and parents will satisfy the legal responsibility when they attend an Academic Success Meeting with their child by completing one of the following: 

First year parent options,

  • Option 1:  By attending their child’s Academic Success Meeting for 30 minutes during study skills (schedule using links above), this will satisfy the NSHS scorecard requirement and the legal responsibility for the new state law.
  • Option 2: By attending their child’s Academic Success Meeting for 30 minutes during study skills (schedule using links above), this will satisfy the NSHS scorecard requirement and the legal responsibility for the new state law.  In addition, parents may attend an upcoming parent meeting from 4 – 5pm (Downtown, 9/19/17; Summerlin, 9/20/2017; and Henderson, 9/21/2017).  
  • Option 3: By attending their child’s Academic Success Meeting for 30 minutes during study skills (schedule using links above), this will satisfy the NSHS scorecard requirement and the legal responsibility for the new state law.  In addition, parents may view the school’s FacebookLIVE parent meeting on Tuesday, 9/19/2017 from 4 – 4:30pm (http://facebook.com/nevadastatehs).  Parents will download a sheet indicating that they have watched the live session and return the sheet to the school via the school’s ticket system at http://help.earlycollegenv.com.


Second year parent options,

  • Option 1:  By attending their child’s Academic Success Meeting (COMPASS Meeting) this will satisfy the NSHS scorecard requirement and the legal responsibility for the new state law.  These meetings have been taking place from August through September.
  • Option 2: By attending their child’s Academic Success Meeting (COMPASS Meeting) this will satisfy the NSHS scorecard requirement and the legal responsibility for the new state law.  In addition, parents may attend an upcoming parent meeting from 4 – 5pm (Downtown, 9/19/17; Summerlin, 9/20/2017; and Henderson, 9/21/2017).
